The Herakles Plus by Sense
The original Herakles was one of my favorite sub-ohm tanks. The new Herakles Plus is even better.
Included in the box is the tank, a standard kanthal coil rated at 0.4 ohms, a 316L stainless steel coil for temperature controlled devices, a drip tip, and an extra glass tank.
Coils (ohms and power range)
The kanthal coil is rated at a max 100w while the 316L coil is rated at a maximum 85 watts. They say that a nickel Ni200 coil is available as well, but I did not have one to test. Both coils worked well up to their maximum ratings and I did not get any dry hits.
The build quality is very good on the Herakles Plus. I have dropped it accidentally and I have yet to use the extra glass tank. There is enough resistance on the airflow controls to keep it from accidentally getting moved. The top airflow design and juice flow control are well thought out.
The Herakles Plus comes in 2 colors – Black and Stainless Steel
Ease of Use
One of my favorite things about this tank is that it you can fill it from the top. It’s so convenient not having to turn the tank upside down to fill it. The juice control allows you to close off the juice to the coils so that the pressure from screwing the top on does not force juice out of the coils. I recommend turning it upside down before opening up the juice control in order to push out the excess pressure.
The tank also comes apart completely so that you can clean all the parts. Should you ever have to replace the glass, it will only take a few seconds.
I loved the flavor I got from the original Herakles. I think the flavor on this tank is every bit as good as the original.
This is where they improved the Herakles Plus compared to the original Herakles. There is more airflow to begin with. Then they came up with an innovative design that allows the top airflow to go back down to the coils. In most top airflow designs, opening up the top airflow only dilutes the flavor. In the Herakles Plus, it is allowing more air to come in, but it is also bringing in flavor with it!
The tank holds 3.6 ml’s of juice. I wish it were 5ml’s, but then I would probably be complaining about the size of the tank. The good thing is that this does not drink as much juice as some other tanks that require 80+ watts in order to perform optimally.
I think this is a well suited successor to the original Herakles tank. If you are in the market for a new tank, then this is one tank you should look at.
